Sudden stop

When previewing a menu, pwc comes to a sudden stop after pressing the 'continue' button (to whether or not printing the menu). Is this a known bug, or did i do something wrong.

Ratings for wines already drunk

I've noticed that when you click on the "Ratings" tab of the "Cellar" that you only get the wines that are currently in your cellar. It would be more helpful to get the "Ratings" of wines in our "Tasted" tab and "Out of Stock" tab that we have already rated, so we can easily see what we'd like to get more of.

Bar code scanning

Dear PWC

I have bought a scanner. And it works well. I can scan the wine.

But when I scan the wine only the bar code number appears in the field and not the actual barcode.

The bar codes used in PWC is that UPC-A?

Because I think I might have to configure my code scanner.

Inserting new wines

When inserting a new wine it wouls spped up the process if a search field under the Tap Grapes was introduced. Meaning that if you incerted a C you would only get a list og grapes starting with the letter C.

When searching in the PWC community for a wine it would help me to know if the search result was in my own library already or if it comes from another user.

Automatic Drink By Date

Does PWC contain any type of bar code database, or is there on-line access to one?

As no universal wine barcode database exists, and as so many collectible wines don't even have a manufacturer's barcode label, The PWC Community (the opt-in online community database of the Personal Wine Curator software) offers a unique opportunity for users to share the information they gather to create a database of wines that are associated with barcodes. When a wine is entered by a PWC user that contains a manufacturers barcode number, it becomes searchable by anyone else with the same wine and barcode. In other instances, self-generated barcode numbers will only have practical use for the individual PWC user who generated it. Eventually, as more and more users share their data and barcode information, the work of entering product details will diminish for all.

Will the "get maturity dates" function work with wines from Washington state (or other important wine-growing region)?

The simple answer is "yes." Maturity dates are available for almost any wine from the world's important growing regions dating back to the 1970's, and for the best wines from the most important regions in classic vintages dating back as far as 1912.

PWC calculates maturity dates based on the wine Distinction, the Vintage, and the Sub-region/Region/Country. Vintage information is available for most wines typically associated with a region. For example, you will always get a maturity suggestion for "Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon," but you won't find a suggestion for "Columbia Valley Pinot Noir" because they're not particularly known for their Pinot, and vintage and aging potential information is not really established for these wines. There ARE general vintage ratings available for all of Washington, but that's too general for our purposes, so you won't find those sweeping general vintage/maturity suggestions in PWC.
